Floriferous Lists - February & March 2025
A little list of things I am grateful for this month.
Dappled sunlight filtering through the trees.
Houseplants - everywhere. At least one in every room, but preferably more.
Homemade meals, cooked by people you love and who love you.
Looking through old photos from past adventures—the ones you once disliked but are now so grateful you captured and kept. Proof of a life well lived. A reminder to take more photos. Aging is a privilege.
Seedlings breaking through the soil.
Crocuses—the happiest little flowers.
Big, fluffy bees lazily ambling around the garden, harvesting pollen from the first spring blooms.
Sunsets with soft cornflower blues and warm pink hues.
The dawn chorus.
Cups of tea in bed.
The smell of freshly baked bread.
My cats’ little toe beans and button noses.
Hot baths with epsom salts and essential oils.
Brilliant blue skies and pillowy soft clouds.
The scent of freshly cut grass.
Cheesy ’90s and ’00s pop music, the ones that remind you of school discos panda-pop induced sugar rushes.
The sunshine warming my skin. It feels medicinal. Rays of gold dust.
A crystal-clear night sky after a perfect day, perfect for star gazing.
Paradise on Disney+—scratching that dystopian itch. My still my beating heart.
Crime and thriller novels—easy, addictive, predictable, but utterly unputdownable.
Albus snoozing in the crook of my arm.
Mini Eggs—a daily dose.
Freshly washed sheets, dried outside in the sunshine.
Body butter—Laura Mercier’s Ambre Vanille, my forever favourite. It feels like home.
Watercolours—mixing pigments, listening to the brushes swirl through the water.
Percy leaving little toys as gifts.
Post-breakfast cuddles—all three cats snoozing on the bed.
Slowly transforming our garden into the sanctuary we’ve always dreamed of.
What has bought you joy this month? What moments have you treasured?
Thank you for sharing. I can picture each one of your treasures. It’s very comforting.
